Describe your role at Perigee Fund.
As Communications Director, I have the incredible privilege of telling the story of Perigee Fund—who we are, why we exist, and the real impact we’re making in the world. It’s the story of creating transformative systems change, shifting policies, practices, and mindsets so that all children and families—especially those affected by trauma—can thrive. My role is to ensure that the voices of families, grantees, advocates, and change-makers are heard loud and clear, so we can shape the narrative around infant and maternal mental health.
What are you passionate about and/or what is the philosophy you bring to the organization?
I care deeply about helping children who have experienced trauma find healing, discover their voice, and embrace a life filled with joy. I believe that powerful, authentic storytelling is at the heart of this work—because when we shine a bright spotlight on families, organizations, and individuals who are catalysts for change, we create a ripple effect that transforms communities. Stories have the power to move people, shift policies, and bring us closer to a world where every child has the support they need to thrive.
Tell us a little bit about your professional background.
I’m a seasoned communications strategist with 17 years of experience crafting impactful campaigns in political advocacy, public policy, and global health.
Previously, I served as Chief Communications Officer at SPUR, where I built the organization’s first comprehensive communications strategy, led a dynamic team, and spearheaded campaigns on critical urban issues like housing, transit, food equity, and climate resilience.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the honor of working with incredible organizations like the City of Seattle, Bread for the World, the United Nations Foundation, the White House Office of Public Engagement, and the U.S. Department of Education—always with the goal of using communications to inform, empower, and drive meaningful change.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Harvard University and a Master’s degree in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary.
What excites you about working with Perigee Fund?
We’re in the business of transforming lives. That’s the kind of work that touches my core being and gives me that deep sense of calling. The opportunity to elevate the voices of families, advocates, and community leaders who are driving real change is both humbling and exhilarating. This work isn’t just about policy or programs; it’s about people. It’s about making sure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the chance to feel safe, loved, and supported from the very beginning.
What is your favorite way to develop early connections with the babies and young children in your life?
Presence. There’s nothing more powerful than simply showing up. As a father of two little ones, I cherish every opportunity to be present, engaged, and attentive—whether it’s through bedtime stories, silly dance parties, or quiet moments of connection. For me, fatherhood is about being the daddy I always needed, and I’m grateful every day for the chance to keep showing up
