Describe your role at Perigee Fund.

I serve as Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer, which allows me to collaborate with Perigee grantees to grow their advocacy capacity and deepen their impact in the communities they serve.

Related to your role, what are you passionate about and/or what is the philosophy you bring to the organization?

I am passionate about the early connections formed between babies and their caregivers and will strive to center our relationships with our partners and grantees to ensure family voices and lived experiences are at the center of our work.

Tell us a little bit about your professional background, starting with your most recent position.

I have spent most of my career working on maternal and child health policy and with organizations focused on ensuring babies have the strongest possible start in life. Previously I was the Director of Government Relations for ZERO TO THREE where I managed the organization’s Congressional and White House advocacy portfolios.

What excites you about working with Perigee Fund?

Perigee is an exciting place to work because we are addressing the many challenges facing babies and their caregivers that can multi-generational consequences. The Perigee team has a broad range of experience and expertise, and the program team works collaboratively and creatively to support our grantees and partners.

What is your favorite way to develop early connections with the babies and young children in your life?

My parents dedicated a lot of time to reading to me as a baby as well as encouraging me to read everything I could from an early age. I read to both of my daughters starting before they were born and even today, the highly anticipated nighttime tradition of a bedtime story is something we all look forward to doing together.
